New York City is such a large magical conurbation that there is a lot to see and do in the many different districts which make up the city. The Upper West Side is quite an exclusive area which is made up of mainly residential buildings. There are many things to see and do in the UWS. I will list some of the best.

10. American Museum of Natural History: The American Museum of Natural History is located in the Upper West Side and this is a great museum for anyone interested in the history of the natural world to visit. There are lots of different exhibits on display including ancient human remains, dinosaurs and other animal species. Admission costs $19 for an adult which makes it quite good value for money.

9. Children’s Museum of Manhattan: This is a great attraction for families with children. There are lots of educational interactive exhibits which means your kids can have fun and learn something at the same time. There is even a play post office where kids can enjoy a little role play as the post master or mistress.

8. Columbus Circle Shopping:
Anyone who fancies a bit of shopping can head on over to Columbus Circle. This is a large shopping venue which has stores, restaurants and bars. This has a good mix of different stores from electronics, like Samsung Brand Showcase, to clothes shops like Armani Exchange and Borders bookshop.

4. The Street: Upper West Side, in itself, is a great attraction. This is home to beautiful buildings which date back to times before the war. A very famous building in the Upper West Side is Dakota which was where John Lennon was assassinated.

1. Central Park: Central Park is the best known and most popular park in New York City, located on the outskirts of the Upper west side. It is within walking distance of the upper west side which makes it very easy to visit. If you find city life too stressful and you need to slow down, then Central Park is a good place to visit. There are many things to do in the park, including cycling, walking and even rock climbing.
